Pest surveys and pest control, with a written report
We inspect homes and commercial premises, deal with rodents, insects, wasp nests and birds, and proof the building so they stay out.
Find the problem, fix it, keep it fixed
Pest surveys and reports
A site inspection and a written report that sets out what we found, the risks and what to do about it. Useful for landlords, managers, insurers and anyone who needs a clear record.
Pest control and proofing
Treatment for rats, mice, insects and wasp nests, and bird control within the rules that apply. Proofing blocks the way in, which is the lasting part of most rodent and bird jobs.
Commercial and management plans
Integrated pest management plans, bird management method statements, annual contracts and site packs for food premises.
How it works
-
Tell us what you have seen
Send the address, the pest you suspect and where you have noticed it, using the quote form. We reply by email with a quote.
-
We inspect
We look for the pest and for what is letting it in or feeding it: droppings, damage, nests, entry points, food and waste.
-
We treat and proof
We agree a programme with you. Rodent jobs normally take at least three visits, because control is a programme, not a single treatment.
-
You get a record
You receive a written report of what we found and did, with advice to stop the problem coming back.
Frequently asked questions
Not sure what you are dealing with? Tell us what you have seen and where, and we will advise.
Ask us a questionWhat is a pest survey?
A pest survey is an inspection of a property or site to find out which pests are present, how they are getting in and what is attracting them. We record what we find and give you a written report with recommendations. It can be a one-off check or the start of a treatment programme.
Which pests do you deal with?
Rats and mice, insects, wasp nests and birds, in homes and in commercial premises. Tell us what you have seen and we will confirm whether we can help.
What are the signs of rats or mice?
- Droppings, usually along walls, in cupboards and near food.
- Gnaw marks on food packaging, wood, cables and pipes.
- Greasy smear marks along walls and skirting boards where they run.
- Scratching or scurrying noises in the roof, walls or under floors, usually at night.
- Nests of shredded paper, fabric or insulation.
Rats and mice breed quickly, so it is worth acting as soon as you see signs.
How many visits will a rodent job need?
Normally at least three. Getting rid of rats and mice means finding the way in, treating until activity stops, then checking and clearing up, and proofing where needed. We tell you what to expect when we quote, and we never promise a result in a single visit.
What should I do about a wasp nest?
Keep away from it and do not block the entrance or try to knock it down, as that makes the wasps more aggressive. Keep children and pets away and call us. Nests are easiest to deal with while they are small, and a nest dies off by itself in the winter, so we will tell you whether treatment is needed.
What can I do to stop pests coming back?
- Seal gaps where pipes and cables enter, and repair damaged vents, airbricks and door gaps.
- Store food in sealed containers, and clear up crumbs and spills.
- Keep bins closed and waste areas clean, and do not leave pet food out overnight.
- Clear clutter that gives pests a place to hide and nest.
Where the building lets pests in, we can proof it for you.
Is treatment safe for children and pets?
Tell us about children, pets and any food areas when you enquire. We use only products authorised for the job, follow the label and tell you what to keep clear and for how long.
Do you work with businesses and food premises?
Yes. We provide commercial pest surveys, integrated pest management plans, annual contracts and site packs for food premises. Tell us about the premises and what you need to show to an auditor or client, and we will propose a programme.
Do you deal with bees, bats or other protected animals?
Honeybees are not a pest control job. If you have a swarm, contact a local beekeeper through the British Beekeepers' Association.
Bats and their roosts are protected by law. If we find any sign of bats we stop work and refer you to our sister company MyBatSurvey.
Can you help with pigeons and other birds?
Yes, within the rules that protect wild birds. Proofing and deterrents are usually the lasting answer, and for commercial sites we can write a bird management method statement. Some work with wild birds needs a licence, and we will tell you when that applies.
Not sure what I need, where do I start?
Contact us with the address and a description of what you have seen. We will tell you whether a survey, a treatment or both make sense.
